Seattle Parks and Recreation recently pruned the lower limbs on the Doug fir tree nearest the platform. This helped open up the view. Further pruning of additional trees will help further open the view and preserve the “sunset stone” viewpoints which mark points on the horizon, including at the solstice and equinox. There is no timetable yet for the additional pruning.
The Viewpoint requires regular effort to keep it looking its best. Please be in contact if you would like to be involved and help steward the Viewpoint.
2019 will be the tenth anniversary of the Viewpoint’s creation. We look forward to having a fun community event. Have some ideas? Please be in touch!
