Seattle Parks and Recreation recently pruned the lower limbs on the Doug fir tree nearest the platform. This helped open up the view. Further pruning of additional trees will help further open the view and preserve the “sunset stone” viewpoints which mark points on the horizon, including at the solstice and equinox. There is no timetable yet for the additional pruning.
